A red lacquer trunk with slightly  orange tone lacquered top and sides featuring traditional Chinese hand-painted design.   In Chinese tradition red is one of the colours of life and is associated with wealth.

This sturdy trunk was made in Shanxi in c.1920 from traditional Chinese pine.   This brilliant red trunk is perfect for storing bed linen, for toy storage or as a sofa table.
