It stands easily on its own. It is in a warm Red frame, with black background. Plants of Mei (Plum blossom), Lan (Orchid), Ju (Chrysanthemum) and Zhu (Bamboo) adorn the main face of the screen in a serene and calming fashion.

“Mei Lan Zhu Ju” refers to the four plants of “Plum blossom, Orchid, Bamboo and Chrysanthemum”. They are often known among Chinese as the "Four Gentlemen among Flowers". The quality of the plum blossom, orchid, bamboo and chrysanthemum is respectively that of “being proud, quiet, firm and light”. In addition, they enjoy humane characteristics like “self-reliance, elegant in look but light in taste, and never bow before power. Therefore, since ancient times, the Plum blossom, Orchid, Bamboo and Chrysanthemum have become spiritual symbols of Chinese who used them to reflect their sentiments and ideals. Large numbers of such plants-themed poems and literary paintings can be found throughout various dynasties in Chinese history
